Before we describe what people report, we need shared language. "Focus," "attention," and "flow" get thrown around as if they mean the same thing. They don't, and keeping them apart will make every later lesson clearer.
Attention is what you can hold in mind and keep returning to. It is the raw capacity to direct your awareness — and to bring it back when it wanders.
Focus is sustaining attention on one chosen thing while ignoring everything else competing for it. Focus is attention plus the filtering-out of distraction.
Creative flow is the absorbed state where work feels easy, self-consciousness fades, and time slips by unnoticed. It is less about effortful control and more about effortless involvement.
These are genuinely different experiences. You can have sharp attention and still be distractible. You can be in flow on something that isn't the task you meant to do. Holding the three apart is the whole point of this part.
Here is the crucial pattern. Microdose reports often describe a felt change in one of these without the others. And when you read the reports closely, most of them are not describing raised intelligence at all. They are describing reduced friction or reduced distraction.
When someone says they feel less friction starting tasks, that is about the resistance before beginning, not about being smarter. When someone says they feel less pulled toward their phone, that is reduced distraction — the filtering side of focus — not extra mental horsepower. The work itself is no easier intellectually; the pull away from it is just quieter.
The common reports are mostly about less friction and less distraction — not a higher IQ. Microdosing is not described as making you smarter.
Learning to hear this distinction protects you from the biggest misunderstanding in this whole field: that microdosing makes you cleverer or somehow upgrades raw cognition. That is not what people describe, and it is not what this course teaches.
Here are the phrasings people actually reach for. Read each one as a subjective description

"Quieter mind" — less internal chatter, fewer competing thoughts crowding the foreground.
"Easier to begin" — the dread or inertia before a task feels a little lower.
"More curious" — a pull toward exploring or playing with a problem rather than avoiding it.
"Less self-critical" — the harsh inner editor feels quieter, so messy first attempts feel less risky.
"In the work" — a sense of absorption, of being inside the task rather than watching the clock.
Notice that none of these say "I solved harder problems" or "my output measurably improved." They describe texture — how the experience felt — not performance. That is exactly the right altitude for honesty.
And here is the caveat that hype always omits: none of this is guaranteed. Many people report nothing at all on a given day — no quieter mind, no easier start, no flow, just an ordinary day. That is normal and expected. A practice that sometimes produces a felt shift and often produces nothing is not a broken practice; it is simply what the honest record looks like.
One firm boundary to carry forward. These are descriptions of subjective experience, full stop. None of this is treatment for ADHD, an attention disorder, or any condition. If focus or attention difficulties are affecting your life, that belongs with a qualified professional — and remember the framing throughout: educational only, non-clinical, truffles legal solely in the Netherlands for adults 18 and over.
Get the words right, and you will see your own days more clearly.
