Most of us arrive at microdosing wanting the body to do something. Sleep better. Carry more energy. Settle a restless mood. We treat the body as a machine that should produce results on demand, and we judge each day by whether it delivered.
This course begins by turning that instinct around. The body is not a result you produce. It is an instrument you read. That single shift is the spine of everything that follows.
Take less. Notice more. Noticing the body is the practice — not a step toward it.
This is education, not medical advice. Nothing here promises better sleep, more energy, or any physical benefit. We describe what people report and the skill of reading those reports honestly. Truffles are legal only in the Netherlands, for adults 18 and over.
The difference between chasing and reading is easiest to feel in plain sentences. Compare these two:
An outcome to chase: "I want more energy."
A signal to read: "I noticed I felt restless by 3pm on dose-days."
The first is a demand placed on the body — a target it must hit, with disappointment waiting if it doesn't. The second is an observation. It carries no verdict, no pass or fail. It simply notices what was there.
A few more pairs, so the pattern becomes obvious:
"This should make me focused" (chase) versus "My attention felt steadier this morning, then ordinary after lunch" (read).
"It's not working, I feel flat" (chase) versus "I felt flat today; I also slept badly and skipped breakfast" (read).
"I need it to calm me down" (chase) versus "I felt a little more settled, hard to say how much" (read).
Notice how the reading sentences stay close to the actual experience. They are specific, they include context, and they never pretend to know more than the body showed.
In a microdosing context, the chasing frame is not just unhelpful — it is subtly risky. Three things tend to follow from it.

It tempts dose-creep. When a promised outcome doesn't arrive, the natural move is to push the dose up: maybe more will work. This is exactly how people drift away from a microdose and toward something they didn't intend. Reading, by contrast, asks what did I actually notice? before reaching for the next adjustment.
It overrides the body's own feedback. A goal in your head is loud. It can drown out the quiet signal in your chest or your shoulders. When you are chasing "more energy," you stop hearing the restlessness that is the body telling you something.
It turns honest self-observation into goal-anxiety. The moment a day becomes pass-or-fail, every sensation gets measured against the target. Noticing becomes anxious scoring. The calm attention that makes this practice worthwhile disappears.
Reading dissolves all three. There is no dose to push when you are simply describing. There is nothing to override, because the body's feedback is the data. And there is no anxiety, because nothing is being graded.
So the work of this whole course is not to extract physical benefits from the body. It is to become a careful, honest reader of it — to notice what is there, in context, without deciding in advance what should be there.
When you find yourself reaching for an outcome — more, better, flatter — pause and rephrase it as something you noticed. The body will keep speaking. The only question is whether you are reading it or talking over it.
