Picture the same person taking the same tiny amount of the same truffle on two different mornings. On the first, they slept eight unbroken hours, ate breakfast, walked to work in the light. They describe the day afterwards as clear, warm, a little more present. On the second, they slept five restless hours, skipped a meal, and started the day already behind. Same person. Same dose. They call it flat, irritable, nothing there.
Nothing changed about the dose. Everything changed about the ground it landed on.
This course begins by setting the dose down for a moment and looking at the rest of the picture. A microdose is not a stand-alone fix you swallow and wait on. It is one small element inside an entire day — and the day is doing most of the work.
The central idea of this course is the substrate: the underlying conditions of a life on which any subtle effect either takes root or doesn't.
Think of the substrate as the soil. You can plant the same seed in rich, watered earth or in dry, depleted ground. The seed is identical. What it becomes is not. For a practice this quiet, the substrate is made of things like:
sleep — how much, how consistent, how restorative
food — whether you ate, and what
movement — whether your body has moved at all
connection — the people and warmth around you
light — morning daylight, time outdoors
stress load — what you are already carrying
A microdose lands very differently in a body that is rested, fed and moving than in one that is exhausted and running on fumes. None of this is mystical. It is simply that anything subtle is easily drowned out by noise — and an under-slept, under-fed, over-stressed body is full of noise.
The dose is real, but it is quiet. Whether you can hear it depends almost entirely on the room.
Here is the trap, and almost everyone falls into it at least once. You have a wonderful day and credit the dose. You have a heavy, foggy day and blame the dose. But the real variable was often the thing you stopped noticing: the short night, the missed lunch, the argument you are still chewing on.
This is misattribution — assigning the cause to the most interesting thing in the room rather than the most likely one. The dose is interesting, so it gets the credit and the blame. Sleep and food are boring, so they get ignored. Learning to suspect the boring explanation first is one of the most useful skills this whole course will give you.

A few promises about how we will talk, because they shape everything that follows.
This is education, not instruction. We describe what people report and how things are commonly defined — we do not prescribe, and we make no medical claims. Nothing here treats, cures or prevents anything, and nothing here is a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your situation.
We are also honest about the law. Psilocybin truffles are legal only in the Netherlands, and only for adults aged 18 and over. Wherever you are, your own jurisdiction is the authority, and this course never encourages anyone to break the law.
The spirit throughout is captured in four words: take less, notice more. Less reaching for the dose to do the work. More attention to the ground it grows in.
We have not yet named a single supplement, food or routine — and that is on purpose. This part is only the frame. Before we build anything, we wanted you to see the soil.
